I am back with a new experience that I tried in IT&MD course. VR glasses. I'm sure you have seen one in play grounds or in online markets. VR glasses give you the impression that you are really in the picture and living in that moment. I have ridden a roller coaster and it was stunning. If you ask me what is the beneficial side of it, I would say it can be used for education. The topic can be taught through some videos which is shown through these glasses. This will make your lessons more interesting and attractive for the students. They will go crazy to participate and complete the task you give. You may think that how can every student have one if the price is high. Mr. Can showed us the cheap version of VR glasses and it perfectly works like the real ones. Hi, dear followers... I'm going write about a new game called Second Life. To play this game, firstly you should download it on your computer and then sign up. The game gives you the opportunity to create an imaginary character which doesn't have to reflect your real appearance. Our instructor Mr. Can showed us his own character and gave us a tour his world that he created. He built Istanbul University Beyazıt Campus and Erasmus office to show erasmus students how to go to the office and get information or how to travel from one place to other. He also added some boards showing the steps an erasmus student should follow from the beginning. I have also sign up and created an avatar. This is how I look like in the second life. Good night friendss :)  How is it going ? I have tried a new app called Animoto. It can be used to attract students and make them pay attention to the topic that is to be learnt. Student will be active throughout the lesson and participate more. I strongly suggest this app.   Here is a sample of Animoto.

In this post I would like to share an experience we had last week in IT&MD course. We had a quest who is a former student of IU Hayef Elt and now Research Assistant of Medipol University, Cemil Gökhan Karacan. He presented the new technological devises that can be used in our daily lives as well as in our professional lives. He briefly talked about what is AR and how it is used and how can we benefit from it as teachers-to-be. He stated many positive outcomes of it but he and Mr. Can also said that everything will be outdated with development of new technologies. So, we should be alert and keep up with the changing world. After the presentation part, Mr.Karacan gave us some photos and asked us to try AR using an app called HP reveal. Here  is a short video which I recorded.

Good evening everyone 💚 How are you doing? I have been busy with lots of things this week and I want to share one of them with you.  It is an app called Seesaw, which is really useful and effective for both the students and the teacher. First of all, it is easy to use. Teacher can quickly create a class online and keep on track on his or her students. Also, the limited time of the lessons can be used effectively. Normally, within the class some activities should be to be able to cover the topic but sometimes the time limit makes it hard to accomplish.  So, this app will be an alternative way of making activities after the class. What's up friends ?? I have recently tried some app called Padlet. It allows the teacher to create a board for her or his students to participate in required activities and post their answers via this board. This app may be used as an assignment to do after the main topic is given to see whether the topic is understood or not. Some teachers may prefer to assign this activity before the topic is presented in the class to make students brainstorm about it. Click here  to access my Padlet sample.

Helloo :) Everyone loves watching movies, right? According to some researches we learn more when we are having fun. Everyday we watch so many videos, series on internet. However, some people tend to watch dubbed version of them. Why not watch it with subtitles and learn English while having fun?
